Reduce Your Workload We understand the pressure imposed on all parties involved in workers' compensation settlements as the year comes to a close. We are here to help. We can reduce your workload with our convenient free services:
As always, we strive to meet deadlines for your cases as they arise. Whether you have new cases to refer or you need updates for previous cases, feel free to contact us for all of your MSA needs.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why should I choose your firm over competing MSA firms? A: Our firm possesses an authoritative legal background in addition to strong medical experience to ensure that your settlement complies with applicable laws and regulations and to help you settle your case as efficiently as possible as required by law. While our competitors claim to possess comparable medical experience, no competitor parallels our leading legal authority in conjunction with our trained MSA nurse consultants. Protocols LLC partners with Sagrillo Hammond Dineen & Poskus, LLC, a recognized law firm with a national reputation for handling complex settlement matters, including MSA analysis and allocations, Medicare Secondary Payer issues, and public benefit issues. Ask yourself -- would you hire your dentist to calculate your taxes? Probably not. Then why hire medical personnel to handle legal aspects of a workers' compensation settlement? Q: Which billing preference will cost less -- flat fee or hourly rates? A: Neither billing preference costs significantly more or less than the other. Your choice depends on your preference. You will be billed less frequently by choosing flat fee. However, if you prefer to "pay as you go," our hourly preference may fit your needs. If you have further questions regarding our billing practices, please call us at 1-800-660-7573.
2005 WC Conference Protocols, LLC will attend the 2005 National Workers' Compensation & Disability ConferenceŽ and Expo in Chicago, Illinois. The conference takes place from November 15 through November 17, 2005. If you will be in the area, please stop by and visit our booth. We'll be happy to discuss our firm and our services, and we'll provide complimentary items to help you become familiar with our firm. We hope to see you at the conference!
MSA Approval Update The average time from submission of a Medicare Set-Aside proposal until CMS approval received last month exceeded 24 weeks. CMS' review of our proposals shows continued improvement over the past six months, averaging approximately 24 weeks to reach approval. Although CMS claims to conclude its review process within 45 to 60 days, our statistics show that their process takes significantly longer. Unfortunately, CMS' acknowledgment letter response time has slowed dramatically over the past several weeks. An average of 40 days passed before we received acknowledgment letters last month. Please note, approval of our proposals may require slightly more time than our competitors' proposals because we advocate for the lowest MSA amount that CMS is willing to accept.
Staff Spotlight - MSA Consultant Our Staff Spotlight intends to help our clients get to know the people behind our firm. This month's spotlight focuses on Laura Morel, MSA Consultant. Raised in Michigan, Laura moved to Colorado after receiving her degree in Business from Western Michigan University. Laura has been with our firm since December 2004, and she spends most of her time with her two daughters and her extended family, all of whom live in Colorado. When not at work she stays involved with her daughter's soccer club and school events and also takes full advantage of Colorado's beautiful outdoor activities. |
