CMS will Provide Online Beneficiary Verification
CMS recently announced in a moderated teleconference that its new database system will enable online beneficiary verification. The feature is in response to Congressionally-required reporting procedures for insurance carriers. Medicare verification can be queried by four criteria: Social Security number; date of birth; name; or gender. The site is anticipated to be up and running in July 2009.
